This standard specifies the method for the determination of selenium by catalytic polarography. This standard specifies the use of mercapto cotton to separate and enrich Se(IV) and Se(VI) in groundwater, and the use of catalytic polarography to determine selenium in different valence states. This standard is applicable to the determination of trace amounts of selenium (IV), selenium (VI) and total selenium in groundwater. The minimum detection volume is 0.002ug. If a 100mL water sample is taken, after pre-concentration with mercaptocotton, the minimum detection concentration is 0.02ug/L, and the upper limit of measurement is 0.4ug/L.
