Scope
This standard specifies the method for the determination of nickel and cobalt by catalytic polarography. This standard applies to the determination of cobalt and nickel in groundwater. The minimum detection amount of cobalt is 0.001ug and nickel is 0.01ug. The optimal measurement range is 0.05~0.8ug/L for cobalt and 0.5~8.Oug/L for nickel. in this system. The precipitation of iron interferes with the serious adsorption of cobalt. Adding ammonium fluoride can eliminate its influence, but its dosage should be controlled, otherwise the catalytic waves of cobalt and nickel will be inhibited. If nickel is measured alone, ammonium fluoride may not be added to improve the sensitivity of nickel determination. Manganese also produces a peak current at -1.28V in this system and interferes with the determination. Control the sodium nitrite solution within 2 mL. Manganese has no effect on the determination of cobalt. In order to improve the sensitivity of measuring nickel, 2 mL of sodium nitrite solution can be added to the test solution after measuring cobalt before measuring nickel.
