Scope

This specification specifies the general requirements, test methods and inspection rules for the installation of aircraft magnetic compasses. This specification applies to the installation of direct-reading magnetic compasses, distant-reading magnetic compasses and precision distant-reading magnetic compasses (with precision orientation requirements) on military aircraft. Civil aircraft and helicopters can be used as a reference.
