This standard specifies the requirements and methods for low pressure (altitude) testing of airborne equipment, which is used to determine the adaptability of airborne equipment to low pressure (altitude) environments. This standard applies to the following equipment: a. Equipment transported in pressurized cargo holds of transport aircraft and stored in high altitude areas; b. Equipment that will be affected by rapid decompression in the pressurized cargo hold of a transport aircraft; c. Equipment installed in the cabin of a transport aircraft or other aircraft that may be affected by explosive decompression.
