- This standard specifies the environmental conditions, instruments and equipment, quality control procedures, inspection reports and personnel requirements that must be met for the inspection and quality control of aviation non-metallic materials using infrared spectroscopy. This standard applies to in-factory inspection, periodic or extended re-inspection of aviation plastics and resins, transparent materials, composite materials, rubber, adhesives, sealants, coatings, oils, lubricating materials, insulation materials and textile materials. It also applies to Material process control, mix identification and product failure analysis.
