Scope
This standard specifies the definition and code name, instruments, specimens, test procedures and test reports of forced non-resonant test methods for dynamic mechanical properties of plastics and composite materials. This standard is applicable to the determination of the dynamic mechanical properties of plastics and polymer matrix composites, including prepregs and resins. This standard is applicable to the determination of dynamic mechanical properties such as storage modulus, loss modulus, loss factor, etc. of the above materials at a certain temperature and frequency, as well as the changes of these properties with temperature, frequency and/or time, and thereby determine the material Characteristic parameters such as transition temperature, gel time and relaxation time. The applicable test temperature range of this standard is -160°C to the decomposition temperature of the polymer; the applicable test frequency range is very wide, with a typical range of 0.01~100Hz. This standard is suitable for evaluating the modulus, damping, heat resistance and cold resistance of plastics and composite materials, evaluating the curing behavior of thermosetting resin systems, the quality of prepregs and the processing effects of composite materials. This standard is not applicable to the determination of fatigue properties of materials. For testing of some light metals, this standard can also be referred to.
