- This standard specifies the method for determining the kinematic viscosity of liquid and solution phenolic resins using an Ubbelohde capillary viscometer. This standard is applicable to the determination of resins with kinematic viscosity between 2 and 10000 mm2/s. Note: Kinematic viscosity is a property of Newtonian liquids. Since resin and resin solution are non-Newtonian liquids, the viscosity measured by this method will be an apparent viscosity. When the sample is a solution, the solvent used and the selected concentration should be agreed upon by relevant parties.
