This standard specifies methods for determining the viscosity and intrinsic viscosity of dilute solutions of polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate and their copolymers. Polyethylene terephthalate uses a mixed solvent of phenol and 1,2-diazobenzene with a mass ratio of one to one, and m-cresol solvent is used for the remaining polymers.
