Scope

This standard specifies the method for measuring the surface roughness Ra, Rz and Ry (Rt) of polyester film for magnetic tape using a stylus instrument with contour sequence conversion and a stylus instrument with a computer measurement system. This standard applies to the surface roughness measurement of polyester films used for video tapes, audio tapes and floppy disks.
