- This standard specifies two methods for determining the hydrolyzed acetic acid value in unplasticized cellulose acetate. This standard applies to unplasticized cellulose acetate and does not contain additives, fillers, dyes or other materials that would affect the test. If these substances are present, they must be separated by mutually agreed methods. This standard applies to cellulose acetate containing any acetic acid value. Method A is suitable for fine powdered cellulose acetate; Method B is suitable for cellulose acetate in any physical form (powder, granules, flakes, etc.).
