- Scope
- This standard specifies test methods for the determination of sulfonic acid and sulfuric acid content in alkylbenzenesulfonic acids. This standard is applicable to the determination of sulfonic acid and sulfuric acid content in branched and linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acids used as intermediates in synthetic detergents. Note: Strong acids such as nitric acid and hydrochloric acid, and weak acids such as carbonic acid interfere with the determination.
