- This standard specifies the technical requirements, sampling, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of penetrant BX. This standard applies to sodium butylnaphthalene sulfonate, which is prepared by the sulfonation condensation reaction of naphthalene with butanol and sulfuric acid and neutralized with alkali, referred to as penetrant BX.
