- This standard specifies the site selection objectives, site selection methods, management of the site selection process, site selection criteria and data or information that need to be collected during the site selection process for near-surface disposal facilities for low- and medium-level radioactive waste. This standard applies to the site selection of near-surface disposal facilities for low- and medium-level radioactive waste. This standard does not apply to the siting of uranium hydrometallurgy tailings disposal sites, nor to the siting of landfill facilities for the disposal of unmanaged waste.
