Scope

This standard specifies the flaw detection method and defect grade classification using the Type A pulse reflection ultrasonic flaw detector. This standard applies to ultrasonic flaw detection of compressor forged steel parts and other similar forgings. This standard does not apply to ultrasonic flaw detection of steel forgings made of coarse-grained materials such as austenite.
