- This standard specifies the terminology, rated parameters, test methods, test criteria and type test reports for AC high-voltage grounding switch opening and closing induced current tests. This standard applies to AC high-voltage earthing switches with rated voltage 63 kV and above and rated frequency 50 Hz with the ability to open and close induced current. Note: Grounding switches with a rated voltage below 63 kV are sometimes required to break and close induced currents, but their rated parameters and type tests for induced currents are not normal requirements for this type of switch. The tests can be determined by the user and manufacturer.
