- This standard specifies the terminology, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of current-type starting relays for small fully enclosed refrigeration motors and compressors. This standard applies to current-type starters installed on the surface of the casing of fully enclosed refrigeration motor-compressors for household and similar refrigeration appliances. This standard should be used together with JB 6740.1 "Safety Requirements for Starting Relays for Small Totally Enclosed Refrigeration Motors and Compressors".
