This standard specifies the solid layer method for artificial contamination test methods for porcelain and glass high-voltage system components used in DC systems. This standard is applicable to the pollution withstand characteristic test of insulators used in outdoor polluted environments with a DC system voltage of ±1~500kV. This standard applies to DC overhead lines, traction lines and substation insulators. It is also suitable for bushings but should not damage the insulation within them. This standard is not directly valid for composite insulators and other special types of insulators (semi-conductive glazed insulators or insulators coated with organic grid materials). Note: This standard applies to DC artificial pollution tests where the altitude of the test site does not exceed 100m.
