- Scope
- This standard specifies the test methods and limits for measuring the dielectric loss tangent of a single stator coil of a rotating electrical machine. This standard is applicable to the dielectric loss tangent test of class B and class F insulation stator coils of synchronous generators, synchronous condensers and AC motors with rated voltages of 6kV and above. This standard does not apply to AC motors with overall impregnated insulation.
