- This standard specifies the main types, technical requirements, test and inspection methods, inspection rules and other requirements for mechanical seals used in boiler feed water pumps. This standard is applicable to heavy-duty mechanical seals used with boiler feed water pumps where the boiler water temperature is not higher than 260°C. Its working parameters are: a. Sealing medium: boiler water; b. Sealing chamber pressure: ≤5MPa; c. Sealing chamber temperature :0～70℃; d. Shaft diameter: ≤250 mm; e. Linear speed: ≤70 m/s.
