- This standard specifies the test device, abrasives, specimens, test conditions, test procedures and methods for processing and expressing test results of the loose abrasive abrasive wear test method (rubber wheel method). This standard is applicable to the use of dry sand/rubber wheel or wet sand rubber wheel methods to measure the wear characteristics of materials under loose abrasive abrasive wear conditions in the laboratory, and provides reproducible wear characteristics data of the tested materials under specified test conditions. The test results can be used to predict the relative order of the wear resistance of the tested material when it is subjected to low pressure, parallel or nearly parallel interaction with loose abrasive particles or groups of abrasive particles with poor connection strength to their surfaces in actual working conditions.
