- This standard specifies the method for running performance tests on motor brushes on short-circuit commutators - determination of the brush-to-brush total voltage drop, friction coefficient and 50-hour wear value. This standard applies to brushes for general motors, but does not apply to brushes for small-power motors, copper-graphite brushes connected by direct press-in method, and other brushes with other operating performance test methods.
