Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, technical conditions, test methods and inspection rules for five types of low-cost metal armored thermocouple cables. This standard applies to armored thermocouple cables with nickel-chromium-nickel silicon, nickel-chromium silicon-nickel silicon magnesium, nickel-chromium-copper nickel, iron-copper nickel, and copper-copper nickel wires. For multi-core or single-core low-cost metal-armored thermocouple cables, some specific provisions of this standard (such as dimensions) may not be used. This standard does not apply to precious metal armored thermocouple cables and armored thermocouple cables for nuclear sites.
