Scope: This standard specifies the product type and basic parameters, safety requirements, technical conditions, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, etc. of arc welding transformers. This standard applies to various types of arc welding transformers under general usage conditions. For some special requirements, the user and the manufacturer can negotiate on the basis of this standard and stipulate them in special technical conditions or enterprise standards. Power supplies used in other similar processes can refer to this standard. For small arc welding transformers (welding current ≤ 200A; load duration 20%), the assessment should be carried out according to JB 3643-92 small arc welding transformers.
