This standard specifies the acoustic performance, test methods and necessary evaluation standards for alarms installed on the main engine of earth-moving machinery, aiming to prevent personnel from being harmed by potential hazards when self-propelled machines (whether forward or backward) move. This test is carried out under the machine's fixed working condition. The alarm performance of the machine is a comprehensive function of the alarm design, surrounding conditions, alarm voltage, and the layout of the machine parts relative to the machine. This method is to examine the comprehensive factors that produce the audio alarm. This standard applies to earthmoving machinery defined in GB 8498.
