This standard specifies a rapid, non-destructive method for assessing the sealing quality of aluminum and aluminum alloy anodized films by measuring admittance. This standard applies to quality control tests during the production process, and also applies to delivery inspections between suppliers and buyers. This method can be used for anodized films sealed in a certain hydrating medium. The relationship between the results of this sealing test and other sealing test results may be affected by sealing additives or the presence of impurities such as silicates. Therefore, the sealing quality should be checked regularly using the chromic acid phosphate method. Factors such as pretreatment, anodization, dyeing method used, and alloy composition can all affect admittance readings. This test can be performed on any type of anodized part as long as it has sufficient area (approximately 20mm diameter circle area) and the film thickness is greater than 3μm.
