- This standard specifies the technical performance, safety requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, transportation and storage of arc welding generator sets with internal combustion engines as the prime mover. This standard applies to arc welding generator sets using internal combustion engines as the prime mover under general conditions of use. The internal combustion engines can be gasoline engines or diesel engines. This standard does not apply to arc welding generator sets whose prime mover is an electric motor.
