Methyl tert-butyl ether in the soil sample is purged and enriched with high-purity helium (or nitrogen) in the collection tube. The collection tube is heated and backflushed with high-purity helium, and the components are thermally desorbed. It is separated into gas chromatograph and detected by mass spectrometer. Qualification is carried out by comparison with the standard mass spectrum of the target substance to be measured and the retention time, and the internal standard method is used for quantification.
