This standard specifies the testing methods, testing conditions, testing instruments, testing procedures and calculation methods for detecting the main component content of silicone rubber in composite insulator sheds and sheaths using thermogravimetric analysis. This standard applies to high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, but does not apply to liquid silicone rubber, fluorosilicone rubber, and hard insulating materials (including alicyclic epoxy resins and polyolefins). This standard is applicable to the determination of the main component content of newly shipped composite insulators. The determination of the main component content of composite insulators after operation can be carried out with reference to this standard.
