This document applies to industrial 2-chloro-6-trichloromethylpyridine products produced by chlorination of 2-methylpyridine under the action of a catalyst. It is mainly used as a nitrogen oxidation inhibitor or soil nitrogen fertilizer protectant, and can also be used as a key intermediate for pesticides such as the fungicide picoxystrobin.
