Scope
This standard specifies certain characteristics of synthetic phenylethyl alcohol used as food additives to facilitate the evaluation of their quality. The method of producing phenylethyl alcohol is to use benzene or styrene as raw materials and synthesize it through a series of chemical reactions. Used to prepare food flavors. This standard refers to the American Essential Oils Association standard EOA No20-77 "Phenylethanol" and the U.S. Food Chemicals Pharmacopoeia (FCC) III-81 "Specifications for Fragrance Chemicals and Isolates".
