- This standard specifies the basic methods for reliability testing of automobile engines on benches. This standard applies to reciprocating internal combustion engines for automobiles, including four-stroke and two-stroke, water-cooled and air-cooled, supercharged and non-supercharged gasoline and diesel engines. All new design or major improvement engine finalization tests, engine verification tests for factory transfer, etc. shall be conducted according to the methods specified in this standard. This standard is the reliability test part of the automotive engine test method. QC/T 524-1999 "Automotive Engine Performance Test Method" is the performance test part. The relevant provisions of this standard are applicable to this standard.
