Scope

This standard specifies the high performance liquid chromatography method for the determination of hippuric acid and methylhippuric acid in urine. The minimum detection concentrations of this method are 0.015 mg/L for hippuric acid and 0.03 mg/L for methylhippuric acid. This standard is applicable to the determination of hippuric acid and methylhippuric acid in the urine of normal people and workers exposed to toluene and xylene.
