- This standard specifies the method for the determination of tar and nicotine in sidestream smoke. This standard specifies the puffing parameters (puffing capacity, puffing duration and puffing frequency) and cigarette butt length of GB/T 16450, but it is also applicable to other puffing parameters. This standard is applicable to the determination of total particulate matter in cigarette sidestream smoke and the subsequent determination of nicotine and tar. This method may not be directly used for the determination of other sidestream flue gas components.
