- This standard applies to low-voltage capacitors with commercial frequency AC below 600 V, used indoors or outdoors, for the purpose of improving line power factor, and used in parallel with the load of the distribution system. Note: The capacitor referred to here is one in which the electrode uses evaporated metal film or metal foil, and the medium uses impregnated paper, plastic film and their composites or non-impregnated plastic film.
