Scope

1.1 Scope of application 1.1.1 Overview Added: This part of GB/T4214 is applicable to household appliances intended to be placed on the floor against the wall, embedded or placed on the counter, kitchen worktop or under the sink, or installed on the wall or on the counter. Electric tumble dryers as separate units for similar purposes. For the purposes of this section, when a tumble-type washer-dryer is used as a clothes dryer, it is treated as a tumble-type clothes dryer. Note 101: For the test method of washing function, see GB/T4214.4. This section also applies to gas-operated tumble dryers. 1.1.2 Noise type substitution: The methods listed in GB/T6881.2, GB/T6881.3 and ISO3744 can be used for the measurement of noise emitted by tumble dryers. 1.1.3 Sound source size substitution: The methods listed in ISO3744 are applicable to sound sources of any size. When using GB/T6881.2 and GB/T6881.3, it should be noted that the maximum size of the tumble dryer under test meets the requirements specified in 1.3 of GB/T6881.2 and GB/T6881.3. 1.2 Increase in measurement quantity: The requirements for explicit noise values are not within the scope of this section. Note 101: To determine and verify the noise value stated in the product specifications, see IEC607043. 1.3 Measurement uncertainty instead: estimate of the standard deviation of the sound power level determined in accordance with this standard, see Table 101.
