- This standard applies to coarse and fine aggregates used in concrete, except for lightweight or heavy concrete aggregates (1). Note (1): This standard is applicable to most concrete. However, due to the needs of certain projects or in certain areas, the standards may need to be raised or lowered. This can be determined by the engineer with reference to the engineering specifications based on the project needs.
