Scope

This standard specifies the use of water-insoluble volatile solvents to distill samples for the determination of moisture in asphalt products. In addition to being applicable to various asphalt products, this method is especially applicable to crude oil, coal tar and their refined products, such as fuel oil, paving oil, creosote, paving tar, asphalt, and crude or refined coal tar ( tar acid).
