- This standard applies to power type covered wire-wound resistors (hereinafter referred to as resistors) used in telecommunications equipment, electrical measuring instruments and other electronic application equipment. Note: Power-type covered wirewound resistors refer to resistors in which a resistance wire is wound around a lamp-resistant core such as a ceramic outer tube, and is covered with enamel or other heat-resistant coating.
