- 1.1 This standard specifies two methods for determining the weight loss of plastic samples when specific times, temperatures and activated carbon are present. 1.2 These two methods are particularly suitable for the determination of plasticizer loss when plasticized plastics are heated when no other volatile substances are present. 1.3 These two methods can also be applied to the comparison of different types of plasticizers in the presence of standard compounds with known ratios of resin and plasticizer.
