- Scope
- This standard specifies the determination of mercaptan (Note 1) content (indicating sulfur content) in aviation turbine fuel by potentiometric titration. It is applicable to those with sulfur content between 0.0003% and 0.01%. Note 1: Organic sulfur compounds in fuel, such as sulfide, disulfide and thiophene, will not interfere with the measurement. There is no interference with elemental sulfur content less than 0.0005%. If hydrogen sulfide does not comply with CNS 6190 Section 5.2.1
