Scope

This standard specifies the determination method for carbon black content in polyethylene, polypropylene and polybutylene plastics. However, this method should not be used if it contains acrylic resin (Acrylic) or polar monomers that may affect accuracy. When the sample is decomposed at high temperature under nitrogen, carbon black can be determined by gravimetric analysis. This method is suitable for those containing volatile pigments or fillers other than carbon black.
