Scope

1.1 This standard specifies a test method for separating soluble radium from water to measure its radioactivity. If the sample contains multiple radium isotopes, the use of the AVA detector in this standard is limited to the determination of AVA radioactive isotopes. The more important of these isotopes are radium-223, radium-224 and radium-226. The lower limit of the measurable concentration is 37mBq/L. If the concentration is higher, the sample volume can be reduced. 1.2
