Scope
This standard stipulates that when the standard deviations of two independent groups are known, in order to know whether there is a significant difference between the average values of the two groups, the measurement should be carried out by sampling from each group (or a fairly representative batch). The test method is based on the value (the population standard deviation is known (Note 1), two-sided test). In addition, this test method stipulates the situation when the two groups of samples are equal. The situation of unequal is explained in the "Reference" section.
