Scope

This standard specifies the general method for the determination of the melting point and melting range of chemical products above room temperature and below 300°C. Note 1: Melting point applies to substances that show a definite temperature. 2: The melting range is suitable for multi-component mixtures such as grease, wax, petroleum jelly, glass, amorphous substances and other substances that do not show a clear melting point. 3: In the standards of individual products or product groups, there are provisions for measurement methods that are different from this standard.
