Scope

This standard specifies the 1,10-Phenanthroline photometric method for quantification. Iron content in natural and artificial cryolite and natural and synthetic substances with a molar ratio (NaF/AlF3) of approximately 3 to 1.7. This method is applicable to products with an iron content equal to or greater than Fe2O3 0.02% (m/m). The iron content is expressed as iron (III) oxide.
