Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the total lead content in new and old greases at or above 0.1%. The determination of lead content after separation by appropriate solvents can also be used. Other metal elements often present in grease, such as sulfur, chlorine, phosphorus, etc., will not cause interference in the measurement.
