- This standard specifies the multi-cylinder engine sequence IID test method for evaluating the performance of automotive engine oils. Note: This test method is designed considering short-distance driving in cold weather in winter. It describes the engine test procedure to evaluate the rust or corrosion inhibition properties of automotive engine oil. The evaluation of rust in this test shows that automotive engine oil allows the formation of rust and corrosion. The tendency for corrosion to occur, which will hinder hydraulic valve lift rods and other tight tolerances.
