Scope

This standard specifies the multi-cylinder engine serial VD test method for evaluating the performance of automotive engine oils. Remarks: This test method is an engine test to evaluate the performance of vehicle engine oils by simulating driving and stopping in urban areas, severe low-temperature and low-speed operations, and moderate-load driving conditions on toll roads. When operating under such driving conditions, the engine will produce more paint, vapor deposits, sludge and more wear, especially if the engine oil is prolonged.
