Scope

This standard stipulates a test method for determining the unconfined compressive strength of the undisturbed soil test by applying controlled axial pressure to cohesive soil without disturbing the original soil, reshaping the specimen or compacting the specimen. Note: This test is not applicable to sand, silt, peat soil, soil with fissures, laminated clay, and soil samples that are dry and easily peeled off.
