- This standard stipulates general methods for testing the acid value, saponification value, ester value, iodine value, hydroxyl value and unsaponifiable matter of oil products, their derivatives and the chemical products containing them. Note: Chemical products refer to substances produced by chemical reactions. However, if there are provisions for test methods different from this standard in the standards for individual products or product groups, the methods specified in that standard shall apply.
